White tigers though are one of the more tragic stories of the animal kingdom. They are a result of inbreeding in zoos and places that use them for tourism. The white is a double recessive gene which means they breed them in the family to get it. The results are intellectual deformities, crossed eyes and general cranial discomfort. So do not support institutions with white tigers.
